Be Doers of the Word

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. He is kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college.Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it.One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and his wild hair. The service has already started, so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.Bill gets closer and closer to the pulpit. When he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and is wearing a three-piece suit. He is a godly man — very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane. As he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor? It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.When the deacon finally reaches Bill, the church watches as this elderly man drops his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget."

"Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read."

But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1: 22-25

God Bless You

Are You discouraged?

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried.Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied. It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground ---- it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

Take You Candle... Go Light the world.

Welcome to the first Blog of Touching Lives Foundation.

Our Mission is to CONNECT People with needs to People who have resources to share

We want to help people put Gospel into action by means of Compassionate mission work which can touch Countless Lives daily with the love and peace of Christ. Many people are still waiting to hear from God to serve in his ministry, some expect for some real signs for them as a signal to step out and do the ministry, while some wait for the perfect time to come.

For all those waiting for signs, the good news is that this was given to each one of us 2000 years back when Jesus said

" Go and make disciples of all the nations"-Matthew 28:19,

"The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now Go...... Luke 10:2-3

For those waiting for the perfect conditions, remember what Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 11:4-

"He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap"

If you wait for the perfect conditions, you will never sow and you will never reap.Today is the time to do what God has called us to do. This does not mean that we need to give up all that we have today and go into the streets and start preaching. We can start by living the Gospel, by being a miracle in someone’s life.

I had read a small story which i would like to share with you:-
“ A little Boy was selling newspaper on the street. A man stopped to buy paper from him. While he was searching in his pocket for a coin, the man asked the newspaper boy where he lived. The little boy pointed out to a little shack down on the river bank. Then the man asked, “Who Lives with you?”“Jim”, said the boy.” Jim is crippled, and he can’t work, but he’s my friend, my pal.”The man said, “You would be better off without Jim, wouldn’t you? Won’t you save more money yourself by letting him go?”To this the boy replied, “Oh no sir, I cannot let him go, I wouldn’t have anyone to go home to and also i don’t want to work and live with nobody to share with.”

True to the boy’s comment, life without sharing is a big waste. If you help someone in their distress, you are perceived as a miracle in that person’s life. Your sharing can change someone’s life which in turn will help you be at peace in your life. As mentioned in the book of James 1:27:-

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you"

Make this your purpose in life to be a miracle for someone. Look around yourself for needy people and think of how you can change their life.

“Take your candle, Go Light the world”. Let this be your purpose to live....

So Whose Life are you Going to touch today :)
